Specify a custom wooden gift box before comparing supplier quotes

A wholesale gift-box brief should identify the complete construction, rather than simply request a wooden box with a logo. Share the contents, intended use, quantity and delivery destination so the manufacturer can quote the same specification you expect to receive.

Choose a reference model and opening action

A hinged wooden gift box keeps the lid attached, while a magnetic gift box uses a concealed catch. A sliding-lid gift box needs room for the lid to travel beyond the case. Use these models to explain the opening action you want, then list changes to the proportions, material and interior. A reference photograph alone does not establish those details.

Agree inserts and branding on the sample

An insert or magnetic catch alone does not establish shipping performance. Provide vector logo artwork, the intended size and placement, and a colour reference where relevant. Compare the complete production and packing scope

Compare quotations for the same wood or board, finish, hardware, insert and packing. Include any retail sleeve, individual carton, barcode label and export carton in the request. A pre-production sample is a separate approval step; agree its cost, scope and timing before ordering it, then confirm the production schedule against your delivery requirement.

Send a brief that can be quoted and inspected

Include the reference model, contents dimensions and weight, quantity, destination, requested delivery date, wood, finish, opening, logo, insert and packing. Before approving production, check the sample for fit, opening movement, edges, finish, artwork and packing. For routine care, wipe finished wood gently and dry it promptly; avoid soaking and prolonged direct heat.
